Diamonds
Are Lab Grown diamonds real?
Yes, lab-grown diamonds are just as authentic as natural diamonds that are extracted from the earth. They have the same shape, size, color and clarity grades as natural diamonds. Both natural and lab-grown diamonds have the same physical and chemical properties and are supplied with corresponding diamond certificates.
Understanding diamond quality: What do 4 C's mean for diamonds?
C- Cut:
The first C is the most important. Why is the cut so important? The cut of a diamond is indeed of crucial importance as it directly influences the brilliance and fire of the stone. The arrangement and proportions of the facets determine how light passes through the diamond, is refracted and emerges. An excellently cut diamond maximizes this refraction and reflects the light in a way that creates an impressive sparkle. Our commitment to the highest quality and craftsmanship is reflected in every aspect of our work, and it is therefore a firm rule at RYIA that all the main diamonds in our jewelry have an excellent cut.
C- Carat:
Carat refers to the weight of a diamond: 1 ct diamond corresponds to the weight of 0.2 grams.
1 ct in different cuts can appear to be different sizes. When selecting a diamond, it is therefore important to consider not only the carat weight but also the cut in order to achieve the desired visual effect.
Larger diamonds are more likely to develop inclusions and imperfections. Diamonds with few or no inclusions in larger sizes are rare and therefore particularly valuable.
C- Color:
The color of a diamond is a fascinating characteristic that determines its uniqueness and beauty. From brilliant white to intense colors such as green, blue or pink. Colorless diamonds: the whiter the color, the more valuable and rarer the diamond. The scale begins with D, which means colorless, and follows the alphabet downwards.
In this respect, RYIA Diamonds pursues a first-class vision. Our selection focuses exclusively on the top of the color scale: D-high fine white+, E-high fine white and F-fine white+. This selection ensures that every piece of jewelry we create is set with the best of the best diamonds that radiate unparalleled clarity and brilliance.
C- Clarity:
The clarity grade refers to the appearance of the diamond. Inclusions that occur during the growth process make each diamond unique. The purer the diamond, the rarer it is, especially in larger carat sizes. Large inclusions can greatly affect the appearance of a diamond, making it appear cloudy and dull. In the clarity grades from VS2 to IF (flawless), we speak of the so-called eye-clean range, in which inclusions are not visible to the naked eye. However, from a size of around 1 ct and larger, small inclusions may be visible even at clarity level VS2. At RYIA, we therefore only use VVS (Very Very Slightly Included) and flawless diamonds for our jewelry to ensure the highest quality. For colored diamonds, we require at least VS1 clarity grade, as these are very rare, especially in high clarity grades.
